Natural Treatment for Mycoplasma in Chickens

My discovery of a natural treatment for mycoplasma in chickens is epic and I wish to share with you. Organic Treatment for Chronic Respiratory Disease – CRD

Just in case you are not sure of what Mycoplasma is, I will introduce you to this major enemy of broiler farming. Mycoplasma gallisepticum is the organism responsible for one of the most popular diseases of broilers, CRD. The full meaning of CRD is Chronic Respiratory Disease, and just as the name, it can tarry within a flock for a long time if not properly suppressed.

Why Natural Treatment for Mycoplasma in Chickens?

If you are a broiler farmer, then chances are you will need to treat CRD in your flock before they mature. Mycoplasma has become a terrible concern to farmers because of the economic impact it has on their profit margin. In spite of your good management practices, there is a big chance of having to suppress chronic respiratory disease. This is mostly because a lot of chicks come already infected with mycoplasma from the hatchery. That is, the organism is passed to the eggs from the hen, and it remains in the chick until there is a trigger during the chick’s life.

What Triggers Mycoplasma to Action?

As an Animal Scientist and poultry farmer myself, I am aware that CRD is often triggered by stress. The organism causes a lot of damage to the respiratory organs of the chicken once there is a stressor.

Common causes of stress include heat, dust, and viral infection like Newcastle disease. While you can limit these stressors, sometimes you still encounter them, which is why you need natural treatment for mycoplasma in chickens.

Efficacy of Natural Treatment for Mycoplasma in Chickens

I know that you are are not very sure if there can be a natural remedy to CRD in chickens, but I am glad to say YES, there is. In fact, I have explored the world of organic poultry well enough to understand that diseases like Mycoplasma gallisepticum are better handled with organic treatments. That way, you don’t have to spend too much money on drugs that will not even kill the organism completely but will only suppress its impact. As a farmer, if you have the necessary herbs within your reach, then you will not have to spend on CRD drugs.

What Herbs do I Need?

  • Pls Tutor, what could possibly be the cause of one-sided swollen on the head and eye of a broiler? I also noticed that it has bend its head 180° to be able to see its feed and water. I nought your book from afrimash on organic poultry but can't seem to trace the cure in the book.

    • A pictorial evidence may be more appropriate but I suspect Chronic Respiratory Disease leading to sinusitis.
      Sorry for the delayed response
