JAMB Registration in 3 Easy Steps (2019 UTME)

Year after year, JAMB registration has remained a trending question in the months that precede the Exam month. Thus, the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has made effort to simplify the process of UTME Exam Registration. However, because of the various steps required, things may seem complicated for students trying to register. This is why I have prepared this guide to ease the process for you.

Sale of JAMB Registration Form

JAMB started the sale of forms for the 2019/2020 Session on 10th of January and the sale is expected to run for 6 weeks. That means it will be closing on 20th of February. Prospective students are expected to have registered for the exam before this date.

Requirements for JAMB Registration

There are only two major requirements before you can proceed with your registrations. These are:

  1. A (functioning) Personal e-mail address
  2. A mobile phone number

Please note that you must have access to the email and phone number at all times. You will need them throughout your admission process.

The JAMB Registration Process

1. Online Profile Registration

The first step is to create an online profile using your valid email address on the JAMB portal. After providing the required information in the fields, you will receive a confirmation email in the personal email that you submitted.

Alternatively, you can do your profile registration on your phone. Send your Last name, First name, and middle name as a text to 55019, adding a space between the names (e.g. Abiodun*Adefemi*Akande). The middle name is optional. After sending the message, a 10-character code will be sent to your phone. Please keep the code, as you will use it to obtain the ePIN.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION: To use email, click Creat e-Facility Account/Login on JAMB portal. To use SMS, click Signup for UTME/DE on the portal.

2. ePIN Registration Payment

This is where you make payment to obtain your ePIN. Use any of these Nigerian banks to make your payment. Ecobank, Skye Bank, Unity Bank, Union Bank, Sterling Bank, FCMB, Fidelity bank, and First Bank. Note that this is the second stage of the JAMB registration process.

Alternatively, you can walk into any CBT center and use their POS terminal to make your ePIN payment.

NOTE THAT: You will need the code that was sent to your email or mobile phone during the profile registration.

After the payment, you will be given an ePIN that will be used to complete your registration.

3. Complete Your JAMB Registration at the Nearest CBT Center.

To complete your JAMB Registration, take your biodata and ePIN with you to a CBT center. There, you will also make a payment to N 700.

You will need to provide your personal information, and choose the town in which you would like to write the examination. Here also, you will need to provide your credentials and take bio-metric enrollment. It is at this stage that your picture will be captured.

Lastly, you need to print your eSlip. ✔

At this stage, you are done with the JAMB registration and will need to collect some resources before you leave the CBT center. They include:

  1. E-brochure with admission guidelines and list of tertiary institutions with their study programs
  2. Examination syllabus
  3. A step-by-step guide on how to complete JAMB application
  4. And, a video demo on the usage of the eight (8) keys instead of a computer mouse

That’s all about the 2019/2020 JAMB registration. After this stage, all you need to do is to continue studying and preparing for the exam. See you at the top!
