Coronavirus affects RCCG service pattern as the General Overseer, Pastor E. A. Adeboye supports the government to fight the virus on rampage. This happened following the directive of the Lagos State government for social and religious gatherings in number above 50 to be suspended.
The Wuhan Coronavirus COVID-19 Acute Respiratory Disease has managed to creep into nations and many countries are devising means to stop its spread. Many of the measure taken are restriction-based, as the virus appears to be spreading wide as people move from place to place.
The office of the Assistant General Overseer (Admin & Personnel) of RCCG released a memo on Wednesday 18th March 2020. The memo revealed one of the roles of the church in fighting this disease. The Memo, signed by Pastor J. F. Odesola, has its Subject as “SLIGHT ALTERATION IN THE MODE OF SERVICE FOR PARISHES IN LAGOS AND OGUN STATES.”

Parishes with less than 50 members are not affected and they can continue to hold services as usual.
Parishes with over 50 members in one service are advised to stop the normal service. They are required to use their House Fellowship Centers to hold services.
Parishes with the facilities to run multiple services can do so with each service not having more than 50 members in attendance.
There was only one reported case of the coronavirus in Nigeria before. But gradually, this number grew to eight, as at Wednesday 18, 2020. This explains why everyone has to do their part – the government, the church, you, and I. We all have a role to play if we must see the end of this battery.
